Market/Almaden is an older, traditional neighborhood with a rich mix of historical homes, new residential projects and long established businesses. Located just south of the downtown core, it is in close proximity to the Guadalupe River Park, McEnery Convention Center, San Jose State University, the SOuth First Street (SOFA) area, light rail, and downtown facilities such as museums, restaurants and theatres. Faced with the challenges presented by a vibrant and growing downtown, the Market/Almaden Neighborhood Association is a strong group, whose members have a great deal of pride in their community.
