Edenvale/Great Oaks

The Edenvale and Great Oaks neighborhoods are located in the southeast portion of the City of San José. These two neighborhoods combined make up a distinct community that contains a little piece of history. Formerly the site of a racetrack, many of the streets in the Edenvale Neighborhood and the southern portion of the Great Oaks Neighborhood were named after famous racehorses. Also, the layout of some of the streets duplicates the approximate size, shape and location of the old racetrack in the area. The area contains two elementary schools and a middle school. Great Oaks Park connects both communities. There is also a shopping center, Edenvale Shopping Center, at one end of the area. Together, all of these items make the Edenvale/Great Oaks neighborhood a well connected community.
