    Turn your leaves, yard trimmings and kitchen scraps into a nutrient rich soil amendment. Both green waste and worm composting will be covered.

    The City’s signature open streets event returns with a new route that includes Backesto Park, Japantown, Arena Green and the Rose Garden. For the sixth time, you’re free to bike, skate, wheel, walk, and play in the streets during Viva CalleSJ, a program proudly led by San José's Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services which transforms six miles of open streets into the City’s largest urban park for the day. The event promotes social connectivity and health and wellness, while directly reducing carbon emissions. This year, you can also participate in the Run Viva CalleSJ 5K.   1. Charcot Avenue Extension Over I-880 Project Community Meeting

    September 24, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Berryessa Branch Library

    The City of San José Department of Transportation is leading the effort to extend Charcot Avenue over I-880, from Paragon Drive to Oakland Road. The Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) was released on 8/27/19 for public review as part of the environmental clearance process. This meeting will be held to present the project background, provide a project update, and ask for your written comments about the draft EIR.
